It’s been a long and wonderful friendship for these two Americans: Alan Robinson and Walter McFarlane have known each other since primary school, and have been good friends since high school, around 60 years.

Today they are 72. While they always found they had a lot in common, they never thought that the reason could be biological.
More under this adMore under this adWalter’s mother wanted to put Walter up for adoption when he was still an infant. But his grandparents didn’t want her to, and decided to adopt their grandson. Alan was also given up for adoption 15 months after Walter was born. Because of this, he never knew his mother or his father.
One day, Walter decided to search for his biological father. While he was undertaking DNA tests, a very strong link was established with a ‘Robi737’. After further research, he realised that this was not his father, but his half-brother. Who was none other than Alan, who he had been friends with forever.
More under this adMore under this adWhile they were happy with this discovery, the two men are still nevertheless in great shock, as Walter lamented: ‘The whole thing is incredible, but when you think about it, it's also sad we didn't know we were brothers much sooner, because then we could have gone through all the highs and lows of life together.’
