Area 51: To What Extent Was The Planned Raid A Failure?

And to think that we were so close to proving that aliens exist… Despite 2 million people joining the Facebook group to invade Area 51, the raid didn’t really go as people hoped or planned it would.

A few hundred people made their move, most of them in disguises, and made the most of the occasion to meet and converse with other people who are ‘convinced’ about the American conspiracy theory that the government is hiding theexistence of aliens and extra-terrestrial beings.

After two YouTubers from the Netherlands were arrested ten days before that fateful day, no other major incident had been reported. One man was nevertheless arrested on the night of the raid by the local police for urinating near the gate outside Area 51.

Quite amusing, but not significant enough to make this event the global extravaganza that people thought and hoped it would be a few weeks before. A second man was also arrested in an inebriated state. Hilarious yet ineffective for uncovering the true mystery of area 51.

Surrounding the site, there was a little over 1,500 visitors gathered in little festivals and communities that were set up around the most famous ‘secret’ American military base in the world.
