This is the case with Russell Donnelly, a 30-year-old, living in Jersey City in New Jersey in the United States. A few days ago, he tested positive for Covid-19 and went into isolation. He is now creating a buzz on social networks thanks to his loss of sense of taste.

This is what Russell Donnelly said about the first footage posted on his Instagram and TikTok accounts. Then followed a series of videos where he could be seen eating an onion, and even wasabi in an Oreo.

Within a few days, Russell Donnelly's videos were a hit. He garnered millions of views and even caught the attention of Buzzfeed, who then interviewed him:
I could feel the onion in my sinuses a little bit, but really very little. Garlic paste was the easiest. I drank lemon juice several times and if I kept it in my mouth for a while my mouth would tighten up like when you taste something bitter, but there was no flavour.
