Of course, if you drink a lot of water or coffee every night before going to bed, you probably don't have a problem with your urinary system. If possible, and in order to have an uninterrupted night, we advise you to avoid drinking too much two hours before going to bed.

If you have high blood pressure and are taking medication, it is normal for your bladder to be restless at night. Pregnant women, too, may have to go to the toilet often because of the size of the foetus, especially in the final months.
Older people may also be affected because their urinary system may not function as well over time. Finally, people suffering from water retention or those who have a urinary tract infection may also be affected.

Don't hesitate to consult your GP because not only is it an uncomfortable situation, but it could also be a symptom of a more serious disease such as a brain tumour, Parkinson's disease, or even the onset of dementia.
In addition, if there is blood in your urine, if you have a fever, or if you suffer from painful urination, it could mean you have a urinary tract infection which can be treated with antibiotics.
