Better still, according to Chinese medicine, your body might actually be sending you a rather specific message that you would probably do well to listen to.

Indeed, as outlined by Healthline, your body disperses energy, also referred to as qi, to different organs throughout the day. For example, between 1 and 3 AM it is believed that your liver uses your energy to cleanse blood.

The organs are, in a way, allocated the same time slot throughout the day and night. When you're asleep, the publication states that 'qi is believed to draw inward to fully restore your body'.
