Health scare in light of the coronavirus: How to prevent being infected

And due to the recent surge in contamination figures, authorities are increasingly more worried about how this virus is infecting people.

The coronavirus is responsible for making people all over the world either slightly or moderately ill, but recently, two new popular versions of this virus have proven to be quite serious.

As a result and according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that was later picked up by CNN, authorities have been raising the alarm ever since the most recent strand, known as COVID-19, caused a major outbreak in the Chinese city of Wuhan and has since spread to the rest of the world.
More under this adMore under this adAs it turns out, with the data we currently have, there have been more than 81,000 people infected by the virus in China, and the global toll of infected persons has almost reached 440,000. This virus is becoming an increasingly serious risk for the public and in some cases, it can be fatal.
More than 19,000 people worldwide have already died as a result of this virus which is easily transmitted from person to person.
More under this adMore under this adThe CDC believes that the coronavirus can infect people in up to 5 different ways: through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, through direct contact with an infected person, by shaking hands with someone, by touching an object or a surface which has previously been contaminated and finally, and although it isn’t as common, through faecal contamination.
As a result, and since we live in a very well-connected world, the recommended safety measures have been put into place to prevent the virus from spreading any further: washing your hands regularly and for at least 20 seconds, avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth without having washed your hands first and finally, avoiding all close contact with those who may be infected.
