It turns out there’s a massive advantage to being bald

Tormented by the idea of a receding hairline, bald spots, and thinning hair? Stop worrying, embrace it! According to a study performed by the University of Pennsylvania, baldness has nothing but upsides.

Seductive and Reassuring

Full disclosure, the study shows that baldness appeals to the fairer sex. When the researchers asked a group of men and women to categorise a series of different male subjects, those who lacked a head of hair were seen to be heavily attributed with qualities like seduction and domination.

Conclusion? Bald men are systematically seen as mature and evoke a sense of security. These two attributes were considered to be highly attractive.

The study states that simply embracing it and shaving one's head does wonders for boosting a man’s standing with women, as it communicates a message of confidence that is otherwise not verbally stated.

Choosing to dispense with one’s hair is arguably a form of nonverbal behaviour, a form of expression which communicates information about the self otherwise difficult to observe.

Great news right? So it’s official – going bald isn’t growing old, but simply maturing into a more confident and attractive man. However, for those of you who aren't convinced, there could be a solution. A University of Wisconsin study has found that electric pulses in hats could help reverse balding. So far it has only been tested on mice, but the university hopes to have human testing in the next six months.
