Rectal Ejaculation

Research titled A Curious Case of Rectal Ejaculation, published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science by some American scientists, highlights the plight of the man whose identity is unknown. The paper reads:

A 33-year-old male with a history of illicit drug use presented with five days of testicular pain. He also noted a substantial amount of urine and sperm passage from his rectum in addition to pneumaturia and fecaluria for the past two years.

Pneumaturia and fecaluria relate to gas and faeces in a person’s urine, respectively.

Further analysis of his urine suggested he may have had a complex case of urinary tract infection. A CT scan of his pelvis also revealed swelling in his left testicular tube.

Results from the scan also pointed to what appears to be a ‘gas-filled structure’ in his prostate which was communicating with his rectum.

Drugs and Coma

The man who has a history of using hard drugs had a particularly bad episode with cocaine and hallucinogenic drug and was in a state of comatose for three weeks.

Health officials used a catheter on him during this period, and they believe that could have caused the reversal of roles between his penis and anus. According to the research, the patient:

...recovered with only mildly reduced antegrade ejaculatory volume over several months.

Researchers concluded the paper by cautioning physicians to pay extra attention to how a particular type of catheter is used.
