The first sight was from an American Airlines pilot who was on the approach to the LA International Airport at around 6:30 pm on the 30th of August who claimed he saw a 'guy in a jetpack'. The pilot stated in an audio log:
Tower, American 1997. We just passed a guy in a jetpack.More under this adMore under this ad
The air traffic controller replied without skipping a beat:
American 1997, okay, thank you. Were they off to your left or right side?
The pilot replied stating that the man was off about 300 yards to the left at around 3000ft in the air, the same altitude as the plane. That's pretty high up.

A spokesperson for the FBI's field office has confirmed that they have received reports of the sighting and are underway trying to figure out who pulled off the incredible stunt.

And, this isn't the first time a trick like this has been pulled off. Back in 2015 Yves Rossy and his partner Vince Reffet flew in jetpacks alongside an Emirates plane above Dubai after they were dropped off in a helicopter.
However, this incident of the man with a jetpack was not nearly as publicised as Yves and Vince's stunt so the investigation continues.
