This 12-year-old stole his parents' credit card and went on holiday alone to Bali

A 12-year-old teenager had nothing better to do than steal his parents' credit card and go on holiday, alone, to... Bali!

This is a different kind of runaway. It all started with an argument between a 12-year-old boy living in Sydney, Australia, and his mother.

Evidently offended and angry, the child did not hesitate to go alone to the airport in his city and head for Perth, on the other side of the country. There, he took another plane to Bali, Indonesia, all by carefully choosing airlines that allowed children to travel alone. He paid for his plane tickets with his parents' credit card, which he had stolen beforehand.

'They just asked for my student card and passport'

But that's not all. The teenager then booked a hotel room at the All Seasons Hotel in Bali. The boy who was nicknamed 'Drew' by the show A Current Affairexplained himself:

They just asked for my student card and passport to prove that I was over 12 years old and in secondary school.

Her mother realised that he was missing when her son's school called. And for good reason, he had made it look like he was going to school. He was actually on the other side of the continent.

His mother then had to pick him up in Bali. She said:

We were shocked when we learned that he had gone so far away.
