Liverpool Are Just Five Wins Away From Breaking These Records

The strong team have topped the Premier League this season and are close to beating a few records. Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager has stated, that he doesn't care to pay much attention to record-breaking as it distracts from the team's attitude to take it 'one game at a time'. A mantra that has clearly worked well for the team so far.

Although Klopp may not be curious, Liverpool's fans still are. It has been revealed that the team are only five wins away from making a perfect home record. If the team manages to achieve this then they would be the first league in Premier history to do so.

The record was almost had by Manchester City last season by winning 18 of their 19 home games, losing only to Crystal Palace at a score of 3-2.

Liverpool actually has a pretty good chance of breaking this record as the five games they have left don't pose much of a threat. Out of all the remaining games against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Burnley and Chelsea, by the books, Chelsea looks to be the biggest challenge.

This isn't the only record Liverpool are up against. The team have a real chance of becoming the new 'Invincibles'. If Liverpool can achieve this they will be the first team since 2003 /04 to go the entire league campaign unbeaten, a title that is still held by Arsenal.

After recently beating West Ham 3-2 at Anfield, Liverpool has also matched a record held by Manchester City since 2017, of 18 consecutive victories.

Liverpool is currently at the top of the board, holding 22 points above its competitors. However, football can be an unpredictable sport and anyone knows that injuries, penalty decisions and strong competitors can easily throw Liverpool off track. Klopp stated:

"Could I have wished for a better position to go into these last 11 games? No, I would never have thought it was possible, but each one of them is really difficult and we respect that a lot,"
