Although the PS5 will most definitely eclipse its big sister quite quickly over the next few months, PS4 lovers don’t have to worry just yet. In July, Sony announced that they would continue to support the PS4 after the Playstation 5 has been released, but they had not released any information specific to how long this support would continue. Recently, Jim Ryan, CEO of Playstation, has provided more details on the Playstation 4’s future lifespan. According to him, the console will be supported for the next 3-4 years, which is sure to reassure many PS4 lovers who, until recently, were worried that they would be completely and immediately abandoned after the PS5 dropped. However, one very mysterious little detail has also sparked some fans’ curiosity.

In case you weren’t aware, the Playstation 3 was supported by Sony for 4 years after the PS4 was released. That means that this strategy will be similar, especially since the current health crisis will logically have impacted the PS5's production process. And so on the agenda for the next 3-4 years, we can expect versions of new games that will be released for PS5 as well as titles from smaller games developers or independent studios.
