ITV has confirmed that I'm a Celeb will, in fact, be returning to our screens this year after fears that COVID-19 would interfere with filming.

This year's pandemic has thrown the film and television industry into chaos and many of our favourite shows and much-anticipated films were put on hold leaving us stuck at home with nothing to watch except for the entire series of Breaking Bad on Netflix which we have all no doubt already seen at least twice.

Initially, due to fears surrounding the coronavirus, it was not sure whether the series would air a season this year and in May, tv show bosses had announced they were having 'crisis talks' to discuss the future ofI'm a Celeb. A source confided at the time:

I'm A Celebrity is six months away but bosses are holding meetings about how they can ensure it still goes ahead in the current climate. A raft of measures are being looked at.

The source continued:

One of the most recent plans was to employ a crew that is 95 per cent made up of Australian workers to overcome the issues surrounding flying to different countries and the quarantine restrictions. This would mean a lot of the show’s UK crew missing out on their annual big gig but ITV are having to seriously consider every option.

The source also stated that due to the ever-changing nature of the coronavirus ITV was having to consider every option for filming the show to ensure the safety of all the cast and crew.
