This man was driving down a deserted road at nighttime when something totally unexpected almost caused an accident.

Australia is well known for its unique wildlife - from terrifying spiders, snakes and sharks to cuddly koala bears and kangaroos. Except that kangaroos possibly shouldn't really be in this second category - since they can actually be very dangerous animals - as a man who had to defend his dog from an attacking kangaroo found out.

Kangaroos, despite their cute appearance, believe it or not can be quite dangerous animals. This is due to their strength, weight and their sharp claws on their back feet. On the other hand, they are herbivores and not particularly aggressive, so if you leave them alone they should do likewise. The only known case of a kangaroo killing a human was in 1936.

In the video above, we see another Australian falling foul of a kangaroo, this time whilst he was driving along the road at night. Thankfully the man was not hurt in the incident - but it certainly gave him a shock. The most danger that kangaroos pose to humans is road accidents, such as with deer in other parts of the world. These kinds of accidents occur quite frequently when the kangaroos surprise drivers since they are quite common on roads outside of urban areas.
