For $200, you would be treating yourself to a quintessential haute cuisine of fries topped with 23,000 edible gold dust.
More under this adMore under this adLocated in the upscale Manhattan Upper East Side, the restaurant Serendipity 3 is already the holder of world records for the most expensive burger ($295; £212) and ice cream sundae ($1,000; £721).
Guinness World Records certified the Crème de la Crème Pomme Frites as the most expensive fries on earth, the 10th of such records to have been claimed by the restaurant.

The fries start out as Chipperbec potatoes which are then blanched or scalded in vinegar and champagne. Then they fry in pure goose fat, not oil, and not once but twice, so they are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
That’s not all. They are then sprinkled with edible gold—about 23,000 specks of gold dust— and seasoned with truffle salt and truffle oil.
More under this adMore under this adThey are served on a crystal plate with an orchid, thin-sliced truffles, and a Mornay cheese dip. The sauce, too, is infused with truffles, a rare seasonal mushroom. The Corporate Executive Chef, Frederick Schoen-Kiewert said:

Like many restaurants, Serendipity was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and the management thought the fancy fries would be a good way to announce its return.
This decision appears to be paying off quite well as there is already an eight-10-week wait list to taste the fries.
Creative Director and Chef Joe Calderone said:
