It's not every day you hear about a lump growing on someone's head for no apparent reason, let alone a 4-inch growth. Shyam is an Indian farmer who grew an unusually large horn people have dubbed the devil's horn.

What are the symptoms?
The horn started growing five years ago, but Shyam kept it under control with the help of his trusted barber, who trimmed it.
More under this adMore under this adHowever, as time passed, the horn got harder and harder, so he had to go to the hospital in the city of Sagar to have it removed.
When analyzing the composition of the horn, they discovered that it was made up of keratin, a protein that is mainly found in human toenails and hair. This protein is what makes them strong and hard. At first, Shyam says it didn't hurt, but the discomfort got worse over time.

According to doctors, sebaceous horns are usually benign and can be treated with surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Once they are removed and the wound has healed, patients must undergo skin graft surgery.
