An insider source has revealed that the Gwrych Castle amenities are not all they seem.

With I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! being filmed in Wales’ Gwrych Castle for the second year running, one of the biggest challenges the campmates face is dealing with the bitter cold. However, it seems that all is not as it seems when it comes to the shower situation.

A source quoted by The Sun revealed:

The castle is certainly no holiday camp, but the stars are being afforded much more luxury than the viewers are told. The castle itself is really cold, but the shower does get warm enough to be more than comfortable to wash in. There are certainly no icicles forming on the shower head as mentioned.

On the show, viewers see campmates collecting firewood and pumping the boiler in order to get hot water. However, the insider revealed that this is actually for show and the hot water supply is actually available at the flick of a switch from the producers. That being said, they’ll only turn the hot water on for them if they complete the tasks.

It’s still a big change from the waterfall shower we’re used to seeing in the jungle camp. Before entering Gwrych Castle, Frankie Bridge said she was glad about that, revealing:

I’m buzzing that I don’t have the pressure of going out in a bikini and being in the shower on TV, so I’m totally fine with that.

I’m A Celeb smoking

It was also revealed that while luxury items are strictly banned, the celebs who smoke are given cigarettes if they want them. Emmerdale actor Danny Miller, football legend David Ginola and music producer Naughty Boy are all said to have been puffing away since entering the castle.
