The I’m A Celeb campmates are finally headed back to Gwrych Castle - but where have they been the last few days?

In an unprecedented turn of events, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! has been off-air for the past few days after Storm Arwen hit Gwrych Castle. The celebrities were evacuated from camp for safety reasons on Saturday - but where were they sent?

Where have the I’m A Celeb campmates been?

The I’m A Celeb campmates were sent back to the separate locations they had been isolating in ahead of entering the castle for the first time last week. They have therefore been separated since leaving the castle on Saturday. While this will have given them some respite from the chilly castle, it won’t have been total freedom either.

With ITV saying that the celebs would be in the same conditions as they had prior to entering the castle, it seems likely they will have been eating regular meals rather than castle rations. They have also had access to warm running water.

What’s more, the celebs have reportedly been allowed to wash their clothes after Frankie Bridge complained of her knickers stinking of fish guts following the Turrets of Terror trial. Usually, campmates have to make do with the meagre washing facilities in camp to get their clothes as clean as possible.

On the other hand, the celebs will have remained cut off from the outside world as their phones haven’t been returned to them. This means they won’t have been able to get in touch with their loved ones - or find out what the public has been saying about them since they entered the castle.

What impact will the castle break have?

While it sounds like it will have been a nice break for the celebs, it may make the return to camp even harder. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley - who had to withdraw from camp prior to the storm - said:

I would have thought that's going to play havoc with their psychology. They've all got themselves, and I would have got myself, into the mindset that you're in the castle and then suddenly you're back in a modern bungalow by the beach. It's going to mess with them.

We’ll have to wait and see if he’s right when I’m A Celeb returns with a live show at 9pm tonight!
